The Lastest from AEHC

The Executive Committee of the Assembly of Episcopal Healthcare Chaplains met in June and have the following information to share:
 
The Assembly of Episcopal Healthcare Chaplains will have a retreat October 3-6 at the Trinity Wall Street Retreat Center in West Cornwall, CT. Details will be coming soon!
 
We will have our annual meeting via Zoom on September 13, 2023 beginning with Noonday Prayer at 12 Noon CDT/ 1:00 pm EDT. Important topics for the meeting include:
 

• The promotion of David Fleener to President, Sherry Black to Immediate Past President.
  • We are looking for someone interested in being our next President-Elect,who will succeed David in 2 years. If that’s you, please contact us! 
• We are considering a name change to Assembly of Episcopal Chaplains, in recognition that not all Episcopal Chaplains work in healthcare, a step to being more inclusive. Inclusivity is also an important part of the reason we moved our annual meeting, which has traditionally been held in conjunction with the APC Conference, to an accessible Zoom meeting this year. The name change will need to be approved by the membership.
• We are in the process of re-initiating our non-profit status – which has unfortunately lapsed over the years. We are holding off taking steps until after the meeting as we consider the adoption of the name change.
• We are working on being able to accept online donations
• We would like to resurrect the Chaplair, a newsletter, in Electronic form and would like the membership to submit items of interest.
