AEC Events for 2025: Current Events from David Fleenor, Our President:
The Association of Episcopal Chaplains will have an its third retreat in October.
Join us for the third annual Retreat for Episcopal Chaplains, October 13-16. Each year we have hosted a program that combines self care with education and reflection, and this year is a continuation of that program. Father Mike Marsh is our featured speaker, and he will be teaching about how to offer spiritual care to traumatized communities.
This year we have selected the DeKoven Center in Racine Wisconsin, a place with historic buildings and grounds. It is centrally located in the United States and we hope to see chaplains from several time zones! The rooms are double, so you can travel with a friend or partner.
If you are a Board Certified Chaplain, you can count this retreat as Continuing Education in 2 Methodologies: Methodology 1, Attending Educational Events and Methodology 4, Self-Care. We also encourage you to apply your time off from work as educational time rather than personal time off, if your organization offers that option.
We are asking for a $50 commitment check when you register. However, in the last two years we have been able to cover 100% of the costs for this retreat and we hope to do that again. The entire stay, including meals, will be covered, and we will try to cover some of the travel costs.
We have 16 spaces, so please register soon! We will also maintain a waiting list. You can register and get more information at https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSe-XU4MiDqCUVqoWyhSZ9NhonJPOVoOYBTdzsazmPpnptNlzg/viewform?usp=dialog.
